Our Story
Small batch, traditionally inspired breads and pastries.
Each handmade with care.
In 2021 we bought an old historic house, site unseen, on little but grace and hope. When we took our first steps on the 150 year old stairwell beneath the hand hewn ceiling beams, hammered with antique square nails, we knew our lives would never be the same. So we turned our world upside down, started doing what we truly loved, and couldn’t wait to share every bit of it with you.
How we got here is a great story, what we’re doing now is even better.
the inspiration
Before well-equipped home kitchens, bakehouses offered people a place to gather and bake bread in community wood-fired ovens. After helping keep the fire warm and sharing baking tools, they would carry the loaves on wooden planks back to their families and neighbors. These bakehouses, and the food being made, were the heart of the community. We want to bring back the tradition of caring in each small batch of baked goods that comes from our ovens. We began, and still carry on, with a few simple promises. We seek and source the very best ingredients, from flour to vanilla, supporting local, real, honest, organic and regenerative farmers, growers and artisans. Then we use this inspiration to specialize in crafting small batch, traditionally inspired bread and pastry. Every one is made with the upmost care in a long, handmade, real artisan process. And, true to our hearts, every loaf and pastry is freshly made and baked each morning. Some so fresh, they are handed to you still warm.
We can’t wait to share our goodness with you.
Follow along on all the messy, silly, heartbreaking, triumphant, and devoted moments of our life in flour, as our dreams come true, one loaf and pastry at a time.
